Superyacht Specialist Division for Explorer Yachts
The current edition of SuperYacht World magazine carries many articles about Discovery Yachts, two of them written by us. Inspired perhaps, by its arrival on the news stands, Robert Shepherd of the Edmiston company office in New York tells us how he has been setting up a division within the company called Edmiston Explorer.
He has created a fleet of yachts from within Edmiston listings that are explorer type yachts currently cruising in splendidly exciting destinations well off the beaten track that he can offer to clients and other charter agents.
Yacht brokers are traditionally extremely apprehensive about sending clients onto yachts unknown to them and with yachts in far away locations that is not always possible.
In a bid to make it easier for them to sell charters on these yachts, Shepherd has personally visited each of them during their normal operation and has sampled the food, service and excursions allowing him to offer other charter agents, a first hand description of what their clients would experience while onboard and enjoying the excursions.
At present they now have the following yachts in their fleet
Tia Moana – Cruising in the South Pacific
Aqua – Adventuring on the Amazon River
Atmosphere – Exploring wild side of Chile and Patagonia in luxury
Queen of Galapagos – Bringing a new level in yachting luxury to Darwins stomping ground
In May Edmiston will also be adding Tu Moana, the sister ship of Tia Moana currently being refitted to accommodate 32 guests in 1 owners suite, 2 VVIP Suites, 4 VIP Suites and 9 Junior Suites. Once back in service this yacht will only be offered for charter through Edmistons who will hold the central agency.
