Charter Yacht MIRA: New Chef

The charter yacht MIRA, a 70-foot Norlin/Sweden sloop, is pleased to introduce their delightful new chef, Athene Macrae. Athene, of British nationality, is most passionate about two things in life, culinary fare and the ocean, which makes her position on MIRA, the best of both worlds.

Athene takes great pride in her ability to create healthy and exciting menus, taking inspiration from a wide variety of cuisines including Italian, French, Middle Eastern, Spanish, Indian and Asian.  She will use only the freshest ingredients available and sources organic produce wherever possible (and if you are lucky enough to be where the fish are biting, Athene will catch, prepare and serve them fresh from the Mediterranean to your dinner table!)

SAMPLE MENU

Breakfast

~ Fresh Bread straight from the oven served with a selection of local cheeses, cold meats, homemade jams, and marmalade and organic honey ~

~ A selection of cereals with fresh milk and yoghurt ~

~ Eggs cooked to your requirement ~

~ Fresh fruit salad ~

~ Freshly squeezed fruit juices ~

~ Tea/Coffee ~

Lunch

~ Grilled Zucchini and Haloumi salad served with fresh herbs and a lemon vinaigrette ~

~ Tuna carpaccio served on a bed of green salad with basil oil and toasted pine nuts ~

~ Chilled Andalucian Gazpacho with fresh bread and a selection of cheeses ~

~ Salmon and Dill fishcakes with a green bean tricol or salad with a chilli and lime dressing ~

~ Freshly made mediterranean puff pastry pizza served with a rocket and parmesan salad ~

Dinner

~ Salmon poached in white wine and herb butter with new potatoes and
green beans lightly tossed in lemon oil ~

~ Roast shoulder of lamb with caper berry sauce accompanied by
honey red peppers and creamy mashed potato ~

~ Chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with fresh pesto with fresh tomato sauce
accompanied by steamed spinach and pan fried courgettes ~

~ Filet of beef in peppercorn sauce served with potato gratin and braised red cabbage ~

~ Oven roasted sea bass served with green bean salad, sauteed garlic potatoes and peas ~

Desserts

~ Poached cinnamon peaches served with vanilla yogurt ~

~ Individual zesty lemon cheesecake ~

~ Apple and ginger crumble served with vanilla custard ~

~ Hot chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream ~

~ Baked amaretti pears served in spiced red wine syrup ~

MIRA is ON THE MOVE and available for charter this summer in the West Med (Sardinia, Corsica and the South of France) and will also consider charters in the East Med (Croatia).

Summer rates are:  Euros 16,500/week, plus expenses.

Charter yacht MIRA in Turkey & Eastern Med Islands

S/Y Mira is available for charters along the Turkish coast and Eastern Mediterranean islands this summer 2009.

Mira, is a fully air conditioned, 70-foot Norlin/Sweden sloop, which can accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 cabins, all with ensuite heads. The master cabin has a king size bed, there is also a cabin with a double berth, and a cabin with twin berths.

Charter Yacht MIRA in Croatia Summer 2008

Designed by Peter Norlin and Jens Ostmann and built by Sweden Yachts in 1995, MIRA, this beautiful 70-foot sloop has been meticulously maintained.



MIRA is fully air conditioned and has accommodations for six guests in three cabins each with ensuite heads. The larger master cabin aft, offers a king bed, sofa, and vanity, plus private access to the cockpit. The forward cabin to starboard has a double berth, while the port forward cabin has upper/lower single berths.

MIRA has a crew of two. The experienced and multi-talented Captain Argan Bailey has been at the helm of MIRA for a year now, prior to which he worked as chef on board for 2+ years. Chef Neslihan Ulutas, graduated from University in Turkey with a degree in Tourist Management. She began her career in yachting as a stewardess which she enjoyed very much. It was not long, however, before she realized that cooking was her true passion.

MIRA is available for charters in Croatia May through September.
