Shipping Newspaper reports on possible sale of superyacht build yard
Lloyd’s List the daily newspaper published in London and reports on all matters to do with shipping, has carried a story in which it suggests that super yacht builder Blohm + Voss shipyards is to be sold to investors by ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.
That company has confirmed it is engaged in negotiations over the future of its shipbuilding operations, but refuses to discuss details.
Much of ThyssenKrupp was restructured during 2008 and has seen orders cancelled and a reduction in its payroll.
HDW another of the groups divisions is widely reported as having had the contract to build six similar sized superyachts cancelled but it is believed that work on the metre eclipse for Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich continues at Blohm and Voss in Hamburg
