Dream Ketcher has a crew of two and accommodates up to 4 guests for a family charter. The forward guest cabin is a large V-berth and has ensuite private head with toilet & shower. There is a quarter berth after (port side) which is suitable for a young adult/teenager or two young children. The quarter berth can be curtained off for privacy.

Nathalie & Eric

Eric and Nathalie have spent the last couple of years learning all the best spots in the Abaco's and Nathalie has logged over 150 local dives.  She and Eric look forward to sharing their local knowledge with guests and showing them the secret harbors, beautiful cays and the abundant underwater life of the glorious Abaco Islands.  Both Eric and Nathalie have traveled extensively in their previous professional careers promoting international sporting events and are delightful, well educated, engaging and between them speak French, English and Spanish.

Nathalie's cuisine is influenced by her home country of France with a variety of Caribbean and fresh seafood dishes sure to please any palate.  As PADI Dive Instructor, Nathalie is eager to show anyone the wonders below the surface.

Eric, a licensed Canadian sailing instructor, is delighted to share his knowledge and instruct guests in the art of sailing.

"We absolutely loved Solstice and would not hesitate to recommend it. Cliff & Liza were wonderful hosts and the scenery was AWESOME!  Miles of secluded beaches with very few other boats.  If someone wants to get away, this is the place to do it.  The only potential downside is that the dives were fewer, but very high quality.  It didn't bother us because we managed 4 dives, 2 of which were shark dives!"

Solstice has an 11-foot dinghy with 15HP motor, 2-person kayak, snorkel equipment, fishing gear, floating mats, satellite radio, flat screen TV/DVD, internet where available, etc. Cliff is a dive instructor and diving is available for certified and non-certified divers. Diving is dependent on conditions, typically 2-4 times per week for up to 4 divers, and only one or two dives/week for 5 or 6 divers.

CaryAli plans to be in the Caribbean for February through March. Catamaran Solstice & Winter Solstice

We received an email this morning from the charter catamaran Solstice in the Bahamas. They are looking forward to the lunar eclipse.

Hello Bob & Sheila,

This will be a very exciting Winter Solstice onboard the Catamaran Solstice.  Early that morning we'll be witness to a total lunar eclipse!  This hasn't happened on the day of the Solstice in over 400 years.  Not only will it mark the beginning of our 7th year exploring the Exumas, but a true astronomical delight...  I expect we'll be anchored at Hawksbill or further south ?!

We've had a brilliant year that sailed by way too quickly.  Old guests, new guests, and old new guests came aboard for some truly memorable adventures.  Thanks to you we'll be around for another year.  Good times, good laughs, and good memories is what we're all about.  We've found new remote beaches, dive sites, and trails that'll keep us coming back for more.

Catamaran Solstice

According to news reports, the lunar eclipse will begin tonight (Tuesday morning) at 1:33 a.m. EST (it will be at 2:33 a.m. AST for us folks in the islands)  and totality begins at 2:41 a.m. EST and lasts for 72 minutes.

They say that with the full moon high in the winter sky, the lunar eclipse will be visible from four continents, with the best views from North America and Central America if weather permits. I hope to witness this event because the next time it falls on the Winter Solstice will be on December 21, 2094!!!

The itineraries below include the Northern Exuma Cays and points of interest we've come to love.

A variety of fun stops are planned with fast, exhilarating sailing between our shoreside and on-the-water adventures. The days are scheduled for both sailing and exploring. (And don't forget the eating.. with an award-winning chef on board!)

Recommended pick-up is Norman's Cay or Staniel Cay.   Drop-off is either of these locations or Nassau. 

Nassau is not recommended as a pick-up due to the 40-mile upwind leg needed to arrive at the Exumas.

FIVE-NIGHT CHARTER: Normans Cay to Nassau

• Day 1: Norman's to Shroud: Pick-up at McDuffs, sail to Shroud Cay, mangrove creek dinghy exploration to Exuma Sound and Camp Driftwood.
• Day 2: Shroud to Warderick Wells, (Exuma Land and Sea Park): Sail/fish deep waters of Exuma Sound. Drift snorkel spectacular north end anchorage, Visitor Center, hike Boo Boo Hill
• Day 3: Warderick Wells to Hawksbill: Reef snorkel (big lobsters), Plantation ruins hike.
• Day 4: Hawksbill to Highborne: Snorkel drug smuggler airplane wreck, visit Highborne Marina.
• Day 5: Highborne to Rose Island/Nassau roadstead: Allan's Cay iguana visit/feed, downwind run to Rose/Nassau (city by night).
• Day 6: Nassau: sights and sounds, Straw Market, Atlantis Resort

SEVEN-NIGHT CHARTER: Staniel Cay to Normans Cay or Nassau

• Day 1: Staniel to Big Major's Spot: Pick-up at Staniel Cay Marina, snorkel James Bond's Thunderball Grotto, feed the swimming Pigs.
• Day 2: Big Major's to Compass: sail up Pipe Creek, swim with Sharks, hike Crescent Beach.
• Day 3: Compass to Cambridge: hike and play at Rachael's Bubblebath, snorkel caves of Rocky Dundas, feed the Jacks at our mooring.
• Day 4 Cambridge to Warderick Wells (Exuma Land and Sea Park): snorkel spectacular north end anchorage, Visitor Center, hike Boo Boo Hill
• Day 5: Warderick Wells to Hawksbill: Reef snorkel (big lobsters), Ruins hike.
• Day 6: Hawksbill to Highborne: Snorkel drug smuggler airplane wreck, visit Highborne Marina.
• Day 7: (for Norman's Drop-off): Highborne to Allan's Cay iguana visit/feed, snorkel.
  (for Nassau Drop/off): Highborne to Rose Island/Nassau roadstead via  Allan's Cay iguana visit/feed, downwind run to Rose/Nassau (city by night).

Charter Catamaran Entrepreneurship: Bahamas this spring

The charter yacht Entrepreneurship, a 50-foot Catana catamaran, is now accepting bookings for the Bahamas for mid-February through June 2011 charters.

After stopping in the Bahamas last summer, Barry and Liz decided to share what they had discovered.

We had no idea what to expect when we arrived in the Bahamas and what we discovered was beautiful cruising grounds and crystal clear water! It was magnificient!

Entrepreneurship is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 4 guests in two cabins. The starboard hull is a dedicated master cabin designed with privacy in mind... The master suite has a King-sized berth, and ensuite head with stall shower.  For the second guest cabin (port side), you have your choice of the forward double cabin or the aft cabin which can be configured as either twins or a double. Each of these cabins have an ensuite head with shower.

Entrepreneurship has a divemaster and offers on board diving. Two dives/day for certified divers at an additional cost of $40/day/diver.  You can bring your own equipment or rent.

Entrepreneurship is also referred to as "E-Ship" which is a bit easier to say and write :)
