Italian Superyacht Builder Ceases Production
Despite a good response to its exhibits at the Genoa Boat Show in October and winning design awards in Cannes the moth before that Dominator the Italian powerboat maker has closed its doors and is to be wound up unless a buyer can be found to rescue it.

The company that makes motor yachts upto 36 metres was founded in 1999 by Giandonato Sigismondi a mechanical engineer who gained valuable managerial experience, both at Franco Tosi, as the head of several major power stations, and Italian companies, Montedison and Mochi Craft.

He designed and built his first 10 metre himself. Originally launched in 1981, the Mizar 31, can still be seen today at its berth in the marina at Fano.
In 1999 he struck out on his own, establishing the company he named Dominator, and began to guide the growth of a shipyard that, became a significant contributor to the brand names in Italian luxury yachting.
