Update from Tall Kool One - April 22nd

No pictures yet. Bad email connections I`ll try when we get to Nassau. So after 44 days of repairs, provisioning, talking to everyone and wating for the weather window it happened.

Started out at 0615 and headed 115 degrees towards paradise. Wind was calm at 5-7 knots and waves at 2-3 feet. We tried Ft Lauderdale to Miami when the they were at 6 ft plus and knew we were not going to try it like that again. Just after mid day the clouds started to build from the South and the wind increased to 15 gusting to 20, waves built to 4 feet. Scary part was the 4 water spouts we spotted one about 2 miles away. The water was increadible when the spout hit the surface. Only had to adjust course once for freighters. Raised the sails about 0800 and hit 9 plus knots in the afternoon even after shortening sails. Hit outer Bimini about 1330... then hit the sand bar about 1340… a local came out and guided us in.

All is well with Tall Kool One. The kids loved the crossing watching movies all day down below… except Syd who seem to have her Dads metabolism for motion sickness so she satyed up on deck and only threw up a few times. Kids are getting used to the lifejackets and new safety rules on the boat and Reef & Syd are becoming big helpers when it`s time to do things. Power is low I`ll email more later.
