Drumbeat is crewed by the professional team of owners, Vince and Linda Stracener. They have a passion for sailing and a commitment to excellence. Whether or not your desire is to kick up your heels, dive till you drop, or just relax at a secluded palm lined beach, Vince and Linda, along with long time crewmember Kirk, will make all your dreams come true.
The Virgin Islands really does have it all when it comes to Scuba diving: sea temperatures in the 80's, spectacular views, and coral reefs populated by an abundance of sea creatures from octopus to sea turtles. Drumbeat's knowledgeable and friendly crew will make certain you experience Virgin Islands' Scuba diving the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

Your captain, Vince, is a PDIC Licensed Instructor. Scuba diving is included in the cost of the charter, even if you are not a certified diver. For non-certified divers, a Discover Scuba/Resort course will allow you to dive up to 30 feet with your instructor. If you wish to become certified, no problem! Do the book and pool work at home and finish up with a complimentary Referral Course on Drumbeat where you will complete your qualifying check-out dives for your Open Water Diver certification.
Linda is well known in the charter fleet as an excellent chef. How would you like to start you day with...
- Eggs Benedict: Hot buttered English muffin, Canadian-style bacon, and poached eggs are topped by a heavenly homemade hollandaise sauce. Served with seasoned home fries.
- Almond Stuffed French Toast: Thick slices of sweet cinnamon bread filled with almond cream cheese, and drizzled with warm blackberry syrup. Served with hot, crisp bacon.
- Peach Blintz: Thin crepes filled with a blend of sweet cheeses and juicy peaches, then finished off with fresh peach syrup.
- Have it your way Omelet: A fluffy three egg omelet made to order filled with whatever your little heart desires.
- Or, of course, you can just have a bowl of cereal if that's what you wish. It is YOUR charter and meals are prepared to your preferences... Although, I love Eggs Benedict... Yes, please, Linda... I'll have another!
- Compliments to Kirk the ninja. He manages to make sure the that stuff appears and disappears while being invisible himself, and making sure everything works.
- The crew was more than helpful - they waited on us hand and foot. The women tried to make the beds one morning and Kirk had already taken care of it. Kirk was always two steps ahead of the well intentioned wives, who felt compelled to help (they are not used to relaxing like we did).

There's more to do besides diving and eating! Drumbeat has an 18-foot dinghy with 90HP motor, waterskis, wakeboard, tube, kayaks, rope swing, fishing gear, snorkel equipment... or relax in the shaded cockpit or in the hammock and read or listen to some tunes... or check out the beach... endless possibilities :)
Drumbeat is a 72-foot Irwin ketch with a crew of three. Drumbeat is fully air conditioned and accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 double cabins, each with private ensuite head/shower. A great choice for families, group of friends, and honeymooners too!
