The Port State Control Inspection Campaign is gaining momentum.

Commercial superyachts in the territory of the Paris MOU Port State Control Inspection organisation (in the European coastal states and North Atlantic basin) can, we are told, anticipate an enhanced inspection campaign for the coming season.

Commercial yachts which have not been previously inspected should be prepared for a full PSC inspection which could include a general check of certificates and documentation, the overall condition and hygiene of the yacht including navigation and bridge facilities, accommodation and galley, working areas including forecastle and engine room, structural condition, emergency systems, lifesaving and fire safety, pollution prevention and other areas of the yacht's operation.

Yacht Managers at Fraser Yachts suggest that generally inspections are held at the instigation of local port inspectors and do not account for the Owner's schedule or charter calendar.
